Deck Building Progress Report #9

Well, the wood elves have been somewhat busy over the past few days. The photo above might not look too different from the one in my last report, but some changes have been made: the post for the railing has been added, the kick plates and some of the stairs have been nailed down, and the top part of the deck has been coated, making it look darker. Slowly but surely it is coming together. A little more work tomorrow and hopefully the corner stairs will be completed. Then it’s time to get ready for camping in Algonquin.

To the left is a photo of the stringer that is attached to the clothesline pole. When the clothesline was loaded up with laundry last week, it started to pull away from the house, the bricks on the huse being soft and weather worn. A few repairs are in order. Sigh.
