On Sunday I ran 18 km in cooler weather without stopping or taking any power gel. Not in record time, of course, but this is the furthest I've ran at any time so I’m very pleased. In fact, I felt that an additional 3.1 km is quite manageable and attainable. All this while suffering from mild shin splints and sciatica. In fact, after I’ve run for a while I stop feeling the pain.
I’m feeling good and confident but that can change with even a lousy 5 km run.
The physiotherapist told me to cut back on the running to 3 days a week from 5. Now suddenly I feel like I have lots of time on my hands.
