So, spring is here and after a week of 20C weather the first of the tulips are out:
Not all of the garden looks as colourful. But spring is always full of promise. The big flower bed along the pool is looking nice - relatively weed free at this point - with lots of perennials coming up nicely:
But, as you can see, I've given up on the old vegetable garden behind the pool. The boards are rotting and need to be replaced and so I'm getting rid of it all. I'll smooth it out and put some grass and fruit trees in.
But I haven't given up on vegetable gardening. Instead I'm taking a new approach - square foot gardening. Less space, less work, better garden . . . hopefully. Here's my sandbox cum vegetable plot with spinach, peas, lettuce and radishes all planted, awaiting tomorrow's rain. 6 feet by 4 feet. If I remember I'll post weekly photos of the garden's progress.
